The local Greek cuisine is varied and well priced, kebabs, local fish and seafood, grilled meat or chicken, and of course their Greek salads. As bread is provided on the table it is a good idea to taste their many mouth watering dips. Provisions And Shopping Provisioning for the next few days can be done at the local supermarket on the quay, as the various towns and villages along the way carry supplies of fresh bread, meat, fish and produce for restocking your galley. Banks and ATM’s are available on the mainland and larger towns. You can stay ashore and explore the villages, visit caves, local museums, waterfalls, and local places of interest. Then set sail heading south, down the canal, for the most fantastic sailing experience. Due to clear visibility of the next island or port, navigation is done by eye, and there are villages and towns to explore on the way, with numerous snorkel and swimming spots.

Go swimming, snorkelling, exploring the islands or just relax and enjoy sunbathing. For example, head off to one of the many beautiful bays for a swim or snorkel, before climbing aboard for lunch, or head off to another Greek village for lunch and to explore. After lunch you could find another bay for a swim or snorkel before heading into an evening mooring destination. The possibilities are endless. There are very small tide variations around Greece and occasionally only a very small swell, which makes mooring a pleasure. One of the luxuries is to tie up to a local quay side tavern just a few steps away from a table, or moor in a secluded bay within short distance of a tavern. Once secured, head towards a table and quench your thirst with a cool drink. Explore by wandering around the town to pick up that souvenir, postcard or whatever takes your fancy as a reminder of your wonderful Greek sailing holiday experience. Re-provisioning is available at most larger towns.
